@ St. John’s Church   St. John’s Street, Farncombe, Godalming, Surrey GU7 3EJ

Thank you to everyone who came to the final two of Farncombe Music Club's 10th anniversary concerts this month at St. John's Church.
All of the acts played cracking sets which will live long in the memories of those who were there.

Wednesday 2nd August - JASON McNIFF @ Hector's On The Wey, Farncombe Boat House - £12 adv / £15 door

JASON McNIFF is a London based Yorkshireman of Irish and Polish descent. He has made records five records of what is loosely described as Folk or Americana, yet there is something very British about him. He's a great songwriter and top-notch finger-style guitarist. He is touring in support of his recently released double CD anthology. Given the small size of this venue only a very limited number of tickets are still available - the last show there sold out in advance. What's more... you can also eat at the venue before the show...doors open at 6.00pm

Friday 1st September - CLINT BRADLEY @ St. John's Church, Farncombe - £10 adv / £12 door

Come and enjoy an evening of pure Western Music with Western balladeer CLINT BRADLEY making a welcome return here with his band. Every singer/songwriter or musician has a seminal moment at some time in their lives. They hear or see something that makes them want to pick up an instrument and play. For Clint it was hearing Marty Robbins sing his gun fighter ballads.

Saturday 9th September - JONI'S SOUL - A HOMAGE TO JONI MITCHELL @ St. John's Church, Farncombe - £14 adv / £17 door

Gina Foster (Eric Clapton, Sinead O'Connor) together with her band including guitarist Ronnie Johnson (Van Morrison, Bob Dylan) will perform her acclaimed programme celebrating the life and music of iconic singer/songwriter Joni Mitchell. As Gina says "It's not easy to pick a set-list from such a prolific artist, with so many great songs to choose from. But so far our interpretations, with emphasis on the heart and soul, have been going down a storm! From “Hejira” to “Both Sides Now”, “Hissing of Summer Lawns”, “Coyote”, “Carey” and “Edith and the Kingpin”

Friday 29th September - OYE SANTANA - SANTANA TRIBUTE BAND @ St. John's Church, Farncombe - £14 adv / £17 door

Oye Santana is one band we just had to bring back this year after their amazing sold out show on my birthday last year. The best Santana tribute in the world. Close your eyes and you can’t tell the difference, said one promoter. The best tribute I’ve seen, said another. It isn’t just authenticity and musical excellence they’re talking about. It’s the passion, the excitement. With Oye Santana, every track is a fiesta, every performance is a show. Come ready to dance....

Hope you are well. Before heading into the upcoming events, just to mention that I have received very positive feedback about the Farncombe Music Club concerts from the most recent meeting of the Farncombe PCC. However there was one request that audience members do not take any food or drinks of any kind into the Church itself during the concerts. This request to include food and other drinks shouldn't inconvenience most of our audience members who either drink alcohol (which isn't allowed to be consumed in the Church in any case) or other drinks or eat food in the Church Room either before the show or during what is a generous 30 minute interval. New notices will be on display at the FMC concerts.
